Who's That - The New Amiglia Game for Toddlers

The Who's That? Toddler Game lets your toddler get to know your family with fun! Perfect when most your relatives live far away. Or for the kid who wants to play with the computer, just like you...

The Who's That? Amiglia toddler game is perfect for families living far from each other. It lets you match pictures from your Amiglia site to a sound recording of the person's name. The result is a game in which your toddler gets to see pictures from different times and tries to guess who's on it before hearing a familiar voice say the name. Just try it (go to "Games" menu option on your Amiglia Site to make your own) - the kids in our family were mesmerized and we trust your little one will be too.

Who's That? is also perfect for toddlers who want to play with the computer. It is one of very few toddler-friendly computer games on the market, in which your keyboard is locked to prevent damage to your system, but interactive enough to change colors and keep them entertained.

New Feature: Upload Soundtracks to Slideshows

You can now put soundtracks to go along with your slideshows in Themes on Amiglia.com. Simply click the Upload a SoundTrack icon and upload any MP3 from your computer to go along with a slideshow that matches a vacation, event or concept.

Upgrades to Security

We just upgraded the security on Amiglia today. Now all albums have an Admin Password and a Family Password. Thanks for the suggestion Arsim!

Admin Passwords can be used for access to the Configure screen so that you as a family admin can avoid other family members on changing passwords on you, or changing your security settings.

Family Passwords can be set up separately and are used as passwords before - for either locking up the whole site for viewing only by your family, or having View open but locking up Uploads, Edits and Tagging.

Two Big New Features - Family Calendar and Untagged Photo Finder

A very cold windy day here in New York had us inside coding away. Two pretty major new updates to Amiglia.com:

Family Calendar 1.0 Released
Check it out, you'll see a new icon in the navigation that looks like this:  
On first release you'll see an upcoming birthdays, and those that just past.
You also get a listing of all your photos organized by date and matching to
the corresponding theme (event,trip or concept)

Oh and there's a very easy way to update a bunch of birthdays at once.
We decided it was just safer for everyone to not include the birth year

Power Tagging Feature
We're really excited about this one. You'll find it in the navigation as well,
with text saying "Tag Photos!". It gives you a way to find all your photos
that are not yet tagged. The default screen takes you to those that aren't
tagged in any way at all yet, and then you can filter to the "place-less".
There must be a better word then this, but we're using it for now, so
you can also filter to the people-less and the theme-less photos

We got some great feedback from Juan Jose this afternoon on these
and saw people were using them right away.

Now we're off to the diner.

More upgrades today

We've done a number of upgrades to Amiglia today:

1. Slideshow now shows the captions of a photo with better fonts and sizes as well.

2. Trip maps are better supported in Firefox.

3. Import from Flickr is protected behind the SignIn requirement if your site is configured private for uploading and editing.

4. Themes and Places now show the photos they include before asking you to sign in to tag them. We're hoping this will prompt more tagging.

More tagging and other upgrades coming soon. Comments, wishes, anyone?

Profile and Relationships Upgrade

We just took an upgrade live to relationships and profile editing. This should help a lot of the confusion that has been happening, and is more ajaxy then the previous version. Its not very pretty yet, so we'd love feedback on it -- did it help?

Flickr Importer Upgrade

Hey guys, we have an upgrade to the Flickr import functionality live this morning (thanks to requests from Sue J). The Flickr import used to be able to only see the PhotoSets that you've created, but we now have it pulling all your tags down, and you can import photos based on tags you have there.

Let us know with comments on it, seems like a few users have already started importing en masse through it.

Lots of Small Fixes Today

We have some major stuff coming, but today we updated code to fit a lot of the oddities created by this rush of new users.

• Start Page of Albums Improved to Show People on Right Side
• Sign Up Process Redone, allows wedding connections on parents and a simple file upload mechanism for each person to help people getting started
• Front Page www.amiglia.com now focuses on the Family Tree more - reactions?
• Cleaned up a date bug that was sending people deep into the middle 2000's
• Fixed Event/Theme/Vacation insert interface, should bring out a lot more people's photos
